Niek Smit

Welcome to the personal website for Niek Smit.

I went to college in the beautiful City of Groningen, home to the University of Groningen which was founded in 1614. I met my wife during a study abroad program in Finland in 2006 and moved to California shortly after. I currently work in automation projects related to Health and Human Services.

This page is a work in progress, but here is a start:

I enjoy coffee, a lot. I love great design and minimalism and the combination of the two: Minimal Mac. I read the Freakonomics blog, listen to Planet Money, and try to grasp the psychology real estate investing. Miscellaneous tech commentary I read here.

Free time is spent camping great places and brewing delicious clones. I also continue my quest to find the best burger in town.
